Thomas Adewumi International College, Oko is a private, coeducational boarding school for students between the ages of 11 – 19 years of age, founded in 1997, and situated on 45 hectares of grounds on the outskirts of the village of Oko in Kwara State. The location of the College was deliberately chosen to be in a tranquil setting, away from the noise and distractions of urban life, which can adversely affect the developmental stages of young minds.
The college offers both Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School education in which combined academic, ethical and personal values are put into practice as a preparation for life. Students follow the Nigerian Curriculum for BECE and WAEC as well as Cambridge Checkpoint and ‘O’ Levels. ALL students study French and take the French Embassy DELF qualifications. They are also able to sit for JAMB, SAT, TOEFL and Microsoft exams.
The school provides a stimulating, safe and happy environment where the aim is to maximize the potential of the individual student. TAICO also provides an outstanding education by finding and fostering individual talents in each pupil.
As an international college, it is our policy to admit students from diverse and cultural backgrounds that reflect not only the ethnic diversity of Nigeria but of the world.
The ethos of our College is entirely based on the tenets of Christianity. We do, however, welcome students of all denominations and faiths but ask them to note that all Assemblies and Chapel Services will observe Christian doctrines. Individual personal devotion to other faiths is allowed.
The college fosters good manners, the highest personal standards, respect, tolerance and compassion, patriotism, participation and an open mind – qualities needed by the future leaders of Nigeria.
To realize these ideals demands a talented, fully committed staff along with the full moral and practical support of parents.
